The work party was a success. We had excellent turn out, last I counted we had around 18 people attended or passed through. In addition to building the pixie kits, Allen Wooten VY1KX, came by and operated the EMO station for World Amateur Radio Day where he and other members made contacts. On top of that, Dyson Hale along with several other members were troubleshooting his new Yaesu FT-100 all mode all band radio with the club's HP8920B test set. There was food and beverages and plenty of socializing, by all accounts a good time.
I want to thank everyone who was able to attend, as well as those who brought in equipment and donated old boards for others to practice with, and EMO for allowing us to use their space. The purpose of a club is to allow members to do things that they couldn't alone and to provide a sense of community for them. I'd say we achieved that today. I look forward to holding more events like these in the future. I think having it on the same day as a contest, while completely unintentional, was a great "happy accident" as well.
Thank you everyone and enjoy the rest of your weekend, 73
